Family friendly and fun contests are always hatching at the Alabama Chicken & Egg Festival. We offer a variety of pre-registration events and on-site sign-up competitions for all age groups.
NOTE: Additional contest will be posted as they are arranged.
2010 ACEF High School Reporter Contest
The Alabama Chicken and Egg Festival and WAAY 31 News announce the 2010 ACEF Reporter Contest. The winning student will participate in news conferences and will appear on and provide reports to WAAY 31 News during the weeks leading up to the 2010 Festival as well as during the Festival.
The contest is open to all high school students. To enter, students should send one video of themselves doing a report on an attraction in Lawrence County. Video should be approximately three minutes in length. Videos will be posted on WAAY 31 News’ web site at www.waaytv.com where the public will be invited to vote for their favorite reporter.
Entries will be judged on creativity in videography and reporting personality, ability to communicate through the medium of video, the quality of the contestant’s entry, and the contestant’s ability to fulfill and carry through with the project requirements.

REGISTRATION FEE: FREE.
ENTRY DEADLINE: September 28, 2009.
PRIZES: Winner receives a Flip Video Camera. All entrees receive two free tickets to the Alabama Chicken and Egg Festival.
