New for 2010 is a Geocaching contest. Geocaching is a high-tech treasure hunting game played throughout the world by adventure seekers equipped with GPS devices. The basic idea is to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, outdoors and then share your experiences online.
Visit locations geocached in Lawrence County to find the answers to five questions and receive a prize. The Geocaching contest is made possible through the assistance of the Alabama Extension - Precision AG.
HOW TO TAKE PART: Download the Geocaching sheet below. Completed sheets must be received at the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce by 4:00 PM, Friday, April 9th. Sheets may be dropped off at or mailed to the Lawrence Co. Chamber of Commerce, 12467 Alabama Hwy. 157, Moulton, Alabama 35650. Completed sheets will be entered into a drawing at the Alabama Chicken and Egg Festival and the winner will receive a prize. You do not have to be present to win.
EVENT DATE: Now through Friday, April 9, 2010.
REGISTRATION FEE: FREE.
PRIZES: Grand prize to be announced.
