ACCESSIBILITY

The Lawrence County Arts Council hopes that all guests enjoy the festival and recognizes that some people need accessibility-related assistance.  Many access-related questions are answered below. For additional inquiries, please

The Alabama Chicken and Egg Festival is held at the Lions Club Fairgrounds in Moulton, the Lawrence County Coliseum and the adjacent pasture next to the fairgrounds. The terrain includes asphalt, concrete, grass, and gravel path. The festival site is about 10 acres and about 80% of the festival site is grass and pasture. Parking can be a distance from the gate and the very best location for wheelchair access parking is at the Mouton Recreation Center on Court Street. A FREE shuttle is provided by the Lawrence County Transportation Authority to the Lions Club entrance. The shuttles are wheelchair accessible and run continuous during the festival.

Access Assistance at the Moulton Advertiser Information Booth
The Moulton Advertiser Information Booth is the headquarters for access-related information and services. Volunteers are available to answer questions and assist in other ways as needed.

Handicap Parking
Handicap parking is available on School Street in front of the Lawrence County Tech School West Entrance with the appropriate handicap decal. The volunteers who coordinate the parking and traffic are trained to send all those vehicles displaying a handicap decal to the School Street parking lot. Once you are parked, the Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors will shuttle non-wheel chair handicap persons in a golf cart to the front entrance of the Lions Club.

Wheelchair Accessible Restrooms
Wheelchair Port-o-lets are available at the restroom area. Accessible facilities are also available at the Lawrence County Coliseum.

Wheelchair Rentals/Seating
Wheelchairs are available to rent on a first-come, first-served basis at the Moulton Advertiser Information booth located at the Lions Club entrance. A Drivers License and imprint from a major credit card are required.

Service Animals
Service animals are allowed on the grounds provided the animal does not pose a danger or threat to other service animals or patrons. Owners of service animals are responsible for the animal’s personal care. Water for service animals may be requested at the Moulton Advertiser Information Booth.

Please note:
Power wheelchairs and three or four-wheeled scooters are allowed for use by people with mobility disabilities. Two-wheeled scooters or other vehicles are not allowed.

Those who have special dietary needs may bring small amounts of food, for personal use only, into the venue.

The Lawrence County Arts Councils asks for as much notice as possible and needs a minimum of two weeks' notice for any requests for accommodation not already covered by our Access Assistance Program.
