EGG DROP FOR FUTURE ENGINEERS

This contest will include events for both middle and high school students. Contestants must complete an application form (one per team). Two teams will be chosen as winners – (1 from the middle school group and 1 from the high school group). Assistance for the contest is provided by the College of Engineering of UAH and Lockheed Martin.

REGISTRATION: Pre-registration required. Registration deadline is March 31, 2013.

EVENT DATE: Saturday, April 13, 2013.

REGISTRATION FEE: FREE.

EVENT LOCATION: Next to Bank Independent Children’s Stage.

PARTICIPANTS: The contest is open to both middle and high school students and the winning teams in both divisions receive $500.

THE CHALLENGE: Student teams will be given 30 minutes to construct a device with materials supplied on-site that will cushion the egg. The egg must survive drops from 4 selected heights, each higher than the previous one.

PRIZES: $500 per winning team (one high school and one middle school team).
